We Are the 99%

I am a married mother of four. My husband is graduating college with over $30,000 in loans. We owe more on our van than it's worth to sell. We "own" a house with a $1650 mortgage. We are 31 years old. We are the 99%.
(P.S. Did I mention my husband is a disabled vet, my kids have to have the Oregon Health Plan, and I have no health insurance?)

I am the 99% Occupy Salem

I am 25 and a single mom. I work with young adults who are disabled. I graduated college with an associates. I have to work over 40 hours a week and I never get to see my child. I have to stay with my mom just so I can pay my car payment and I still owe over $8,000 in student loans. I am the 99 %.

I Am the 99%

I am 32 years old. I have a bachelor’s degree and a master’s degree. I went back to school for my master’s because I could only find work as an administrative assistant with my bachelor’s in English. When I graduated with my master’s in 2010, I accepted a job as a caregiver. In November 2010 I found a part-time job in my field, as a temp. I worked as a part-time temp for eight months before they hired me for a part-time job with benefits. I paid $300 per month for COBRA health insurance for a year before that happened. Today, I have four part-time jobs and $20,000 in student loan debt. I use the local food pantry because I am barely getting by.
I am the 99 percent.
